What is Hydraulic Hitch A on a Multi-Mover XL

  • The Hydraulic Hitch A is a lifting mechanism designed for the XL models, which can lift up to about 300 kg from a height of ~25 cm up to ~45 cm, or from ~45 cm up to ~65 cm.

  • It allows the Multi-Mover XL to engage with loads whose coupling height may vary (e.g., trailers, containers, wagons) without manual lifting of the coupling.

  • It is listed in the “Hitches” options as: “Hydraulic lift A” for models XL35/50/75.

Advantages of the XL  Hydraulic Hitch A combination

  1. Greater flexibility in coupling height
Because the hitch can lift the coupling point by ~20 cm (from 25 → 45 cm) or greater (45 → 65 cm), you can work with loads/trailers whose hitch height varies—less need for shims or manual jacks.
This makes it easier to connect the XL to different types of loads quickly.

  2. Reduced manual effort / safer operation
The lifting function reduces the need for operators to physically jack up or adjust the height of the trailer or coupling. That means less strain, less risk of injury, faster hookups.

  3. Improved versatility of applications
With this hydraulic hitch option, the XL model becomes more usable in changing environments: e.g., moving trailers, containers, trolleys where the coupling height isn’t fixed, or where you are dealing with slightly uneven ground or varying trailer conditions.

  4. Maintains XL performance while adding coupling convenience
The XL models already carry strong specifications: for example the XL75 handles up to 7 500 kg and has 4 500 N horizontal traction.
Adding the Hydraulic Hitch A means you don’t sacrifice towing capacity but gain the flexibility of a lifting hitch.

  5. Suitable for hard & soft terrain when combined with XL features
The XL series supports different tyres (for hard or soft surfaces) and features a differential drive for manoeuvrability.
When combined with a hitch that can adjust height hydraulically, you’re better equipped to connect and move loads in more diverse settings (e.g., uneven ground, outdoor yards, indoor/outdoor transitions).

Practical benefits in usage scenarios

  • When you have a trailer whose coupling height is lower or higher than the usual standard: the hydraulic hitch allows you to raise/lower the coupling point into the correct height range.

  • In workshops or yards where different trailers or wagons are used, the hitch saves time switching between loads.

  • On soft terrain or where terrain is uneven: coupling height may vary or be less consistent—here the lifting hitch helps get a proper connection without manual adjust.

  • For frequent hookup/disconnect operations: the hydraulic lift makes the process faster and cleaner.

Considerations / things to check

  • The lifting capacity of the Hitch A is limited (≈ 300 kg). It’s the hitch coupling that’s being lifted, not the full load. So ensure your coupling setup is appropriate for the load weight.

  • Confirm that the coupling height range (25 → 45 cm, or 45 → 65 cm) matches your trailers or loads. If your load has coupling outside that range, you may need a different hitch version (e.g., Hydraulic B or C).
  • Even though the hitch aids connection, the terrain, tyre choice, and counterweight of the XL unit still must suit your load, surface, environment.

  • Maintenance: hydraulic systems may require more maintenance than fixed couplings (check seals, oil, etc).

  • Cost: the Hitch A is an optional extra—factor the cost vs benefit for your usage.
